Refreshed Row House
Southwest Urban is uniquely positioned to help our clients by providing not only full service brokerage but full service construction services. For this project we identified an ideal off market property for our client, procured the property while the client was in Switzerland and then completed a full aesthetic refresh of the property to fit the clients design preferences prior to their arrival.
The unit was renovated in 2008 so fortunately the infrastructure was all in excellent shape. The finishes were a bit dark and didn’t reflect our clients more crisp clean aesthetic. The focus on the design was to create a European inspired feel while still retaining the historic elements of the overall structure like plaster walls, saguaro ribbed ceilings and brick floors. Glossy IKEA cabinetry, SMEG appliances, walk-in shower with a steam unit and chrome fixtures create a modern vibe while not fighting with the historic elements. The quaint private courtyard was redesigned to provide a relaxing outdoor space with succulents in large pots, native cactus and Mexican beach stones. The ultra-low maintenance, lock & leave aspects are also perfectly suited to our clients’ needs. The renovation was completed in 2 months at a cost of $43,000.Property Highlights: Prime location on Convent Avenue in Barrio Viejo Eclectic Ochoa Court is steeped in history Mud adobe construction, 22″ walls, 12′ ceilings, hewn beams 850 SF row house with 1 bedroom, bathroom, and living areas Private courtyard and secluded common area Southwest Urban interior and exterior renovation: Aesthetic refresh with new finishes, cabinets and fixtures New IKEA kitchen with SMEG appliances Restored living areas with new lighting New bathroom with walk-in shower with steam unit Private courtyard freshened with new landscape on drip irrigation Cost and time-frame: $43,000 (2 months)
